Cat Health - Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a much misunderstood form of therapy. When used correctly, astounding results can be usually seen - even with the most chronic of diseases, which vets cannot cure. Rather than suppressing the problem with anti-biotics (killing the symptoms-which doesn't actually remove the disease, just hides it or transmutes it into another problem) Homeopathy actually stimulates the body to fight the problem itself, thereby in the long-term creating a healthier individual.
I believe that most so-called homeopaths are not using Homeopathy correctly, and a lot of people believe Homeopathy does not work because of this. Many vets "dabble" in natural therapies and will say they use homeopathy, but homeopathy is a very difficult ART to master - it requires years of study and practise and experience to use it correctly and well in chronic diseases. Unless a vet is using Homeopathy as their sole therapy, they are most likely not using it correctly. Sadly, there are very few good Homeopaths in the world.
But, I have found that for First Aid (acute) purposes, the basics are simple to learn for the average person and also very cheap. Once you have a basic understanding of the principles, you can treat your family & pets at home for such things as colds, fevers, stings, cuts, bumps, burns, sprains etc., without drugs/antibiotics. Chronic and long standing problems however, do require the talents of a well-trained and experienced Homeopath.
I use homeopathic treatment a great deal with my cats. My own Homeopathic Supplies are bought from overseas, as I have not yet found any Homeopathic Remedies sold here in Australia that are reliable. Natural Health Supplies (USA) has some wonderful kits available, they are extremely cheap - for under $200 you can buy a Kit with 100 remedies. That should last for the rest of your life, and it includes almost every remedy you would ever need. I also get supplies from Ainsworths in England, and Simillimum in NZ.
